Furnace Primary School

Welcome to Furnace Primary School Website

Furnace Primary school is a small rural school which occupies a central position in the village of Furnace. It is the focal point of many community activities having very close links with the parents and the local community. Although built in 1876 it is a combination of Victorian building with modern fittings which provides a welcoming, stimulating environment for staff and pupils. It is part of a co-operative of schools which includes  Inveraray and Minard primary schools.  Staff from all three schools work together to share expertise and experience.

Our Values

Our school should be a place where we get the very best education.  It will challenge and support everyone.  It will be an enjoyable place where everyone cooperates and people feel welcomed.  We aim to create and maintain a refreshing environment which is both calming, inspirational and sustainable.

To achieve this, we expect all members of our school community to be focussed, patient and tolerant of others.  Everybody will be respectful, listen well and be reliable and trustworthy.  We will be resilient, even when things seem difficult and we will always try to make healthy choices.

The Values Statement was written by children in P5-7  and Mr Helbert in June 2011 after a consultation with staff, pupils and parents.  We are always keen to improve and if you have any suggestions, please let us know.
